Applying to the Graduate School – International Applicants
Welcome, as a prospective graduate student! There are two ways for you to apply for admission to the UConn Graduate School:
A very convenient Online Application — Preferred
Applying online will save you money ($55 vs. $75), will allow you to pay by credit card, and will provide a more rapid delivery of your application materials to the admissions committee. It is also much more convenient and fully secure. Click on the link above to see how easy it is!
A less convenient and more expensive Paper Application
The fee for applying by mail is $75. You can use the paper application by downloading the online PDF form and completing it. To access the PDF application, you will need to have a copy of the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Before applying, please review the information provided below and in the accompanying links, which will help you to decide if UConn is a good match for you:
- Degree Programs - a complete listing of the graduate fields of study available at UConn, along with contacts for any further information
- Application deadlines vary by program and you should confirm the deadline from your prospective program's web site before you apply. As an international student, you face extra steps related to visa processing, so even if the program can accommodate a late application it may not be possible to complete your visa paperwork in less than 90 days.
- If you are applying for the professional programs in Law (JD), Medicine (MD), Dental Medicine (DMD), or Professional Pharmacy (PharmD), please contact those programs directly. They have separate application procedures.
- Financial Support - UConn offers several options for qualified students
- Fees & Tuition - the cost of attendance and other related topics
- Academic Calendar - find out important dates & deadlines
- Course Catalog - listings of all of the graduate courses offered at UConn and also the legal document containing all the rules and regulations
