The Teaching Assistant Orientation is designed to help students succeed in their TA role at UConn and will introduce principles and practices of effective teaching.
Participants will:
- Become familiar with UConn’s student demographic
- Increase your comfort using HuskyCT tools
- Be informed about where to review key policies, working with students with disabilities, the student code of conduct, and other university resources
- Describe a few strategies to make their classrooms engaging and inclusive.
- Recognize resources and professional development opportunities that are available to you for furthering your practical knowledge about teaching and learning and to maximize your TAship
- Make connections to new TAs and support staff.
